"For I have prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him"
Have I ever shared with you the significance of this verse for us? Mom and I were shopping one day when Turner was still a baby, and I saw this painted on a pretty wooden sign in the Courtyard. I knew instantly that I had to buy it because it just felt like it was written for me personally, maybe because we had prayed for a child for what seemed like a really long time. Realizing that having a child would happen in God's time and not ours was a hard lesson (for me anyway) to learn. I came home with it and hung it right over Turner's bed.
One day, I was watching him sleep and I looked up at that sign. I noticed a few things in the verse (I Samuel 1:27) that gave me chills. Our "I" child was named "Samuel" and his birthday was not "1:27", but "12:7"!
How cool is that?!
